Not only do I get to call Nikky one of our brides, but a friend as well. I met Nikky when we started working together at our corporate day job. We no longer work in the same group or building, but our friendship remained. When Mike proposed, I couldn't think of a better gift for my friend, a custom made bridal gown that speaks to who she is!
As any bride would tell you, the search for a gown can be gruesome. You browse through numerous magazines and photos all in the search of "the One". Nikky's idea for her gown couldn't be further from what she ended up picking. The look she was thinking of was a cuff strapless dress with the color of her wedding with either straps or a halter and some embroidery detail. After trying on multiple silhouettes from A-line to Ball gown, Sheath to Mermaid, we ended up designing the perfect gown.
A Ruched Mermaid, silk taffeta gown with beaded lace accents. The bodice is a plunging sweetheart neckline, with scalloped lace in the middle, keeping it classy. The back bodice is actually see through lace! It holds the structure while keeping it sexy!
We even took it a step further to add personal touches. Nikky loves her skulls and cross bones! After digging a bit through numerous sites for rhinestones, because we were going to custom make and design a beaded belt, I stumbled across some skull rhinestones. How cool is that!? During one of her fittings, we scrapped the idea of a belt, and decided to scatter the skulls in the lace beadwork. That way, they are subtle but add just the pop she was looking for!
Congrats to Mike and Nikky! Love to you both
