My Own Story
After years of helping beautiful brides find their perfect gown, I finally got to design and make my own. Since I am a fashion designer, I felt the pressure right away to create one amazing gown! As great as that is, I also had to take into consideration that my wedding is in Ireland. Not only did the gown need to be fabulous, but it needed to be able to travel abroad well.
I spent hours upon hours designing my gown. The real hinder was that I kept thinking of new ideas and new things to do. Boy oh boy, was I in a pickle. I decided to break things down a bit to make it easy. I started with the material of the gown. Travelling with a bridal gown, means that it needs to pack well, and not wrinkle easily. I knew I wanted stretch. That way, it could be folded up for ease of packing. I knew I wanted lace, but not the typical kind of lace. Done. I found this gorgeous stretch lace that is quite different than anything have seen before. The colors of my wedding needed to stand out, but look great against the greens of the Cliffs of Moher. I chose blush pink to compliment.
It wasn't until after a styled shoot, that I decided to do a blush chiffon overskirt. this will add the drama to the photos I was looing for. Once the wind catches that chiffon, it will look like the cover of a bridal magazine. The benefit of it being an overskirt, is that I can simply remove it and not have to worry about a bustle or how to carry a cathedral length train around with me through rural side of Ireland.
